Bolivia Repressors Declared in Default

The Bolivian Supreme Court of Justice declared defendants ex President Gonzalo Sanchez de Lozada and Carlos Sanchez and Jorge Berindoague to be in default in the "Black October" case, local newspapers reported Wednesday.

On October 17th, an unprecedented 20 cities globally will join together to mark the International Day of Action in Solidarity with Bolivia. Bolivia seeks prosecution of ex-president

The Bolivian energy minister, Andrez Soliz, said Friday that he's seeking criminal charges against ex-President Gonzalo Sanchez de Lozada and others for allegedly cheating the state in a gas pipeline investment deal. These charges are in addition to the charges Sanchez de Lozada already faces for genocide during the October 2003 uprising that forced his resignation.
